Warmer Kiwi Homes with EnergySmart: New Funding Opportunities Await!

At EnergySmart, we're passionate about ensuring Kiwi homes are warm, dry,  and energy-efficient. With the recent expansion of the EECA funding criteria for the Warmer Kiwi Homes Insulation programme, we're here to guide you through the exciting changes and how they might benefit you.

1. Unveiling the New Eligibility Criteria:

The government has generously expanded the eligibility criteria for Insulation, enabling an additional 58,000 lower-income homeowners to access insulation grants. If you've previously inquired about your eligibility and were left disappointed, it's time to recheck, as you may now be eligible.

2. Maximising Your Savings:

The revamped grants now cover up to 90-100% of insulation costs for homeowners in higher SDI areas*, including those holding a Community Services Card. This translates to significant savings and a much warmer, healthier home for you and your home occupants.

3. EnergySmart's Promise:

As an approved service provider for the Warmer Kiwi Homes grant, we're  committed to offering you the best insulation solutions available. Our team will complete a free home assessment and will then provide expert advice specific to your home, ensuring you benefit from the latest funding opportunities and the best solution. With potential support from community organisations, many homeowners find their insulation costs reduced to zero!

Eligibility Breakdown:

The eligibility criteria for the Warmer Kiwi Homes Insulation funding has recently changed, and has now extended to now include homes within SDI 7 areas. Further, those in SDI levels 9 or 10 – and Community Services Card holders – will now be eligible for a grant that covers 90-100% of the cost of an insulation retrofit.

The NZDep Index (or SDI) is an area-based measure of socioeconomic deprivation in Aotearoa New Zealand.

You may have reached out in the past and been declined due to being outside of the eligible areas, however with the extension to SDI 7 it is worth re checking your eligibility.  Contact our EnergySmart team and we will be happy to provide more details and check your SDI and eligibility for you.
